How can I protect my painted Stikfas figure from chipping/scratching?

There are ways to protect your newly painted figure, but only to a certain extent. No matter what is used, you will always have paint rub away at the joints when they are moved.

Many customizers use a spray or paint-on Acrylic Sealant of some form. These are found in most places that sell acrylic paints and are available in both "gloss" and "matte" finish, to make your final figure either shiny or dull. The spray sealants should be applied lightly to keep ink and some kinds of paint from running. Also, some non-acrylic paints (like some Testors model paints) react badly to the spray sealants, so be sure to test some spare parts before sealing your final figure.

Paint-on sealants allow more control over the area you seal, but does not always allow a uniform coating the way a spray sealant will. They sometimes react better with a larger range of paints, such as Testors model paints. No matter which type of sealant you use, your figure can still be scratched with enough force.
