What is Epoxy Putty and where can I find it?

Epoxy Putty is a two-part substance that hardens in about 5 minutes after kneeding the two parts together. It is normally used for plumbing projects, but is easy to sand and sculpt and does not require any baking, just time to "set" completely.

Epoxy Putty is available in many brands, such as Loctite or Milliput. It is usually available in the houseware sections of building supply stores or in modeling stores.

Epoxy putty also comes in various "curing time" versions. The generic "plumber's epoxy" found in most hardware stores tends to harden within about five minutes of mixing and fully cures in around 20 minutes. This doesn't give much working time, but allows you to fill in large areas very quickly.

Epoxy made specifically for sculpting, such as Miliput or Kneadatite (the "green stuff") tends to have a much longer cure time. Miliput has a working time of several hours, but also takes many hours to fully cure before you can work with your piece again. It also tends to be slightly more rubbery after fully curing.
